    Hi Meg,

I met you two years ago while taking a Children’s Literature class taught by Lucinda Whitehurst through the University Of Virginia School Of Continuing Studies. Our class had read Milagros: Girl from Away, and you were a guest speaker.

I am currently enrolled in a class entitled “Writing Across the Curriculum,” and I am researching information on how to write a children’s book for an I-Search paper. I would very much like the opportunity to speak with you via telephone or email regarding how you began to publish your work. Please contact me via email and I will forward my contact information to you. Thank you so much.

    Warm Regards,
    Laurie Messer

    Meg,
Enjoyed meeting you at Kathy Erskine’s talk last night! I am tickled that you have already tweeted about the Legos! Awesome.
Hope to see you around! I will have to go read your books now that I know about them!

    • The pleasure was all mine. So glad you have had this wonderful idea of a play group like this. I’m happy to help children of all kinds — but I am very committed to those who have challenges of different types. Keep me posted! I’m happy to blog about good things that happen for kids!

Hi Meg, thank you again for the SCBWI consultation and the encouraging words about my chapter. I enjoyed your panel discussion as well. When you mentioned the kind and supportive writers’ community it really resonated because of the kindness you extended to me. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to turn around and extend it to another writer. With your words still on my mind, I will forge ahead and will finish the manuscript then go back to the first chapter. Thanks again. All the best, Kate Bradley-Ferrall (and Nixie, too:-)
