  •  April 28, 2012, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm: Chesterfield Public Library, Meadowdale Branch, 4301 Meadowdale Blvd. Richmond, VA in celebration of El Dia de los Niños. Join Meg for a reading of Tía Isa Wants a Car, followed by a hands on writing workshop for upper elementary age students. Special giveaway of a signed copy of Milagros: Girl From Away.   • April 30, 2012: The Hope Tree Project, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (children’s garden), Richmond, VA. (In partnership with LGBG and as part of the Virginia Commission of the Arts Minds Wide Open 2012 celebration) What is a hope you have for yourself or for our community? Join me as we unveil a decorated tree display of traditional Latin American hope charms created by youth from ten Richmond area high schools. (I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the publication of The Girl Who Could Silence the Wind!)

MAY
