The Badass Galleys are Here

By September 19, 2012No Comments

Note: Cover still being finalized

Candlewick sent me the galleys for my YA novel that releases in March 2013. I guess it’s time to tell my mother about the title. !Ave Maria purísima!

Prepare her gently. The title is such a grabber, even with one tiny bad word. I’ll be in line to buy this when it comes out.

If you don’t get it from Candlewick in the next couple of weeks, let me know and I will bring you one of mine (with great pleasure!) I think you’re on the galley list already.

Oh, Meg: This is wonderful. It’s so exciting and to think that we actually were able to hear you read from the book at Boot Camp. I admire your writing style so much. Congratulations on a real achievement. I am typing this from Wild Acres Retreat Center in North Carolina where I’ve been awarded a one week writer’s residency. I’m continuing to rewrite my YA novel switching from third person to first, which is quite a challenge. Do you ever just get so tired of your novel and just want to throw it in the river? (or off a cliff?) Well, I do.Anyway, congrats once again and I’ll be one of the first to buy your new book once it is published! Thank you again for your advice and help at boot camp. I’ve reread your comments many times and appreciate them more than you know.Ann Dallman

Hi Ann! Oh, how well I know the desire to burn a manuscript to ashes. It’s hard to have faith in a new shape taking form, but it will happen. Thank you so much for visiting the blog and commenting. I’ll keep you posted on how things unfold!

  • Wow!! What a title — can’t wait to read!!! — Caroline
